Embaixador 177

Embaixador 177 is based on a radical principle of volumetric purism: a pure, super-minimal white volume subjected to a process of excavation. By carving voids and balconies into this solid mass, the project resolves the dichotomy between urban exposure and private refuge.

These subtractions are not merely aesthetic; they function as devices for capturing light and filtering privacy, transforming the house into a breathing organism.

“When there is someone on the construction side who is also an architect and deeply understands the project, it becomes a valuable asset that is highly important in the building process.”

“Having someone on the other side who has read the project with great rigor and care was decisive. It is something that gives any architect peace of mind when entering a construction site.”

“There was a very positive alignment between the conceived design and the built work, always with particular care from the contractor regarding various detail aspects on site.”

“Whenever a material was selected, samples were brought to the site. That care in approving samples — from colors to textures to variations in grain — was essential to ensure that what was being applied matched what we, as architects, had envisioned.”

The interior is a sensorially designed journey, balancing formal purity with demanding functionality. A zenith skylight allows light to descend through the staircase, washing the white walls and turning vertical circulation into a cinematic moment.
